Open House at Southerland Station

Yesterday, I had the pleasure and honor of catering a lunch for the volunteers helping with the Open House at Southerland Station! What's the connection there, you ask?  My across-the-street neighbor, Nikki Skidmore,'s family owns the gigantic toy store here in Huntsville, and she wanted to do something nice for all the volunteers who helped make the Open House a huge success. (The line was out the door!!)  It's a good thing I am always early to catering events because, my goodness, I had to drive around for 30 minutes trying to find a parking spot!  The store is adorable and of course, Nikki and her family are some of the nicest people you'll ever come to know.  Thanks, Nikki, and I hope to be doing more "business" with you in the future! :)

The spread.

Another angle of the lunch spread.
Fresh Fruit and Cheese Tray,
Fresh Veggie Tray with Buttermilk Ranch,
and an Assorted Sandwich and Roll Up Tray
(Tuscan Turkey Roll Ups, Caprese Salad Subs, Chicken-Bacon-Ranch Roll Ups, Italian Hoagie Subs)

Trio of Cheeseballs and Crackers (Cajun-Ranch with Seasoned Pepper, Bacon and Swiss with Scallions, and Pesto and Sun-dried Tomato with Pine Nuts)  Yum!!

Brownie Bites with Whipped Cream and Rainbow Sprinkles (Kindof pitiful looking at this point, the whipped cream was a little saggy! But you can be sure that they were deeeeelishus.)

My neighbor, Nikki, with the food table.  She is great!!

If you ever need some yummy Sandwich/Roll Up Trays, Fruit/Cheese/Veggie Trays, Cheeseballs or Brownie Bites, you know who to call!

Cheers,

The Chef Next Door
